The Howard County Office of Human Rights and Equity (OHRE) is seeking passionate, self-motivated interns to help advance its mission of eradicating discrimination and promoting equal opportunity. This hands-on role offers the chance to tackle critical social justice issues while developing professional skills in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates are juniors in high school up to college level, who are dedicated and community-minded, ensuring all residents can lead fulfilling lives free from bias. The Howard County G/T Summer Institute for Talent Development is seeking high school student volunteers to assist in Grades 1–8 classrooms this summer. The two-week program will be held at Burleigh Manor Middle School from June 29–July 10 (no program on July 3). Volunteers must be available for the entire two-week session. An orientation meeting will be scheduled prior to the start of the program. Jumpstart is an organization for Howard county students to participate in an inexpensive dual enrollment program at Howard Community College (HCC) where high school students will be enrolled in college level classes in the evening during the school year and count towards college and select high school credits. General information about Jumpstart will be given.
