My first tip for teens who have gotten a job interview is to be confident. Hiring managers look for people who know what they are talking about and can communicate clearly. Confidence can also help you demonstrate strong soft skills, especially communication. Communication is key in the workplace because you need to be able to interact with others, work as part of a team, and express your ideas effectively.

Finding internships can be hard for people who are starting out. A good way to find internships is to look for an intern mentor class in your school. The teachers who run these courses have a lot of connections and can connect you to programs.
Another way is to look out for your county's newsletter. These newsletters normally have a lot of volunteer and internship opportunities. Most of them are local as well. You could also check out the HoCo teens newsletter @ hocoteens.com
